The wandering veil

Tel Aviv. Art Museum.
You have not seen so much art in one place. Its a MUST SEE for any art loving person in this world!
I will not post all of the things that I saw today, but only a small part.
His name is Izhar Patkin.
His dream like veil paintings are based on the poems of a certain Agha Shahid Ali. These two people managed to "tread the boundary between illusion and reality". I fell in love with his art on the spot.
Its an amazing feeling when you stand there and you are surrounded by so much...poetry. In some ways art is poetry as well.
I have no clue how to express what I feel right now. So I will just let you enjoy my rather badly taken photography's of the exhibition.
P.S. The photography's do not really show the true greatness of the art works, but they are the only ones that I've got.

Even more pears...

This is a copy of a watercolour that a famous american artist drew...painted..How do you say it properly in English?
Do you draw a watercolour or do you paint a watercolour...thing and is it then a drawing or a painting?
This question is bugging me already the whole afternoon. Really.

So I know I haven’t posted anything for a while now. That’s because I wasn’t really sure what to post. I thought about it and I just figured I will start from now on to post not only what comes to my mind, but also delicious recipes or fashion stuff or you know the usual things….

A small Autumn Treat

My dad is a cook (and whith cook I mean a real cook) and he showed me this really scrumptious Italian recipe for baked pears. I think the recipe is perfect for autumn.

This is what you will need:
  • 10 pears
  • A lemon
  • 300 g of sugar
  • All sorts of spices
  • A bottle or more of Red wine

It’s really simple. You wash the pears and place them in a preferably high glass casserole. It can as well be out of any other material as long as it’s big enough and withstands high temperatures.

Then you cast (not sure if this is a good use of the verb) the wine over it. We just used up the open red wine bottles that stood around the house, but make sure it’s dry red wine so it’s good for cooking.

Now you add all sorts of spices to it. My dad for example added cinnamon, anis, cloves and other stuff that I sadly was not capable to recognize. Oh and don’t forget to put some of the lemon peels (not the whole lemon just the peels).

The last step is to add half of your 300 g of sugar to it. Preheat your oven to 200 °C and let them bake 45 minutes. Make sure that you check on them several times and spread the wine over it. You now like with a spoon. Then sprinkle the rest of the sugar over it and let it bake for another 10 minutes.
You will have some wine left so put that in a sauce pan and let it boil down. At the end there will be a sweet kind of syrup left which you can use as a sauce.
Before you eat anythink let the pears cool down.Really eassy to make and really yummy....
